been to this place a few times and love it. super service. great food. fair prices. from reading the last comment it sounds like things have changed. will go back there on friday and see. hope I am not disappointed. £4.60 a beer is a bit over the top.

Simply the best

A group of eight of us visited the Star for a meal. We were seated and ordered seven bottles of indian beer. We chatted and ordered another seven beers, at this moment we realised we had been waiting 40 minutes for our food, i asked where the food was "its coming" was the reply. Shortly after the hotplates were placed on the table, 20 minutes later and still no food the hotplates were removed as they had gone cold. I asked for the manager and explained we had been waiting over an hour for our meal, he assured me it would be with us within 5 minutes. 10 minutes elapsed and still no food. We decided to leave and asked for the bill for the drinks we had, i was disgusted to see it was over £65, making each bottle £4.60, more than i would pay in a nightclub. I refused to pay that much and the bill was reduced. As we were leaving a family who had overheard our conversation told us they had come into the restaurant at the same time as ourselves and were still waiting for their meal. So if you want an expensive night out, with no food and poor service would highly recommend The Star indian restaurant in Cheam Surrey.
